By flipping this house’s kitchen and dining room, we were able to open up all the main living spaces to each other and to the outside. This flip allowed us to bring the metaphorical center of the home, the kitchen & its island, into the actual center of these living spaces.
The kitchen features custom cabinets with maximized storage space, allowing us to keep the range and sink areas free and open.
Full-height cabinetry extends into the living room through a large opening tying the two areas together and further increasing storage space.
Casual dining, open to the outside, with a bar for bbq and entertainment staging flanks the other side of the kitchen.
By capturing underused space from the original kitchen location, we were able to expand the mud room within the existing home’s footprint. This allowed us to open up the space and increase storage and laundry areas.
